So here is how it went down, my B Day that is.

My first breakfast of the day. I had looked forward to a long mountain bike ride today but my bike wasn't ready in time. So, now it was off to Idllwild. I have become a bit of a Hammer junkie. So far it's the only stuff that seams to really work for me. Well at least that's what I have been telling my self. Free stuff of any kind usually does the trick too.

Big Chris and I get an early start leaving my house at 5:30am. It was getting warm fast and we were able to head up HWY243 before we started to melt. It kinda sucked that the HWY was in the process of getting resurfaced. There were tiny rocks all over the road but, there were no potholes or crack. I guess it was give and take. It was looking to be a rather good climb. I still can't decide what ride was better, Onyx or Idllwild.

The Diamond Zen Center. I will return here shortly. This sign was at the top of a really long road that went way down in the valley. I could see it ended at quite an amazing structure with ponds and gardens. I thought of heading down there but I really didn't want to add any more climbing to the day.

Almost there!

So it seams that there is a natural spring on HWY243. The water comes trickling threw the rocks and out a pipe that has been shoved into the side of the mountain. I was going to fill my bottles till I seen the sign that said, WATER NOT TESTED BOIL FOR 15 MIN'S. I headed on to the next ranger station.

Now I didn't see any people swinging a hula hoop but from the looks of this sign my chances were pretty good. Next time I will make it a point to locate one of these hoop hippin folks and ask for a lesson.

Yet just a little closer!

Now I was happy to see something that actually said Idyllwild on it. I had been climbing for a while and I was beginning to loose interest. Then I cam across this sign. Notice how it says OPEN SPACE at the bottom of the sign. So why in the hell would they ask you to pay to see it???? Is it really so natural to pay to see nature? Damn it if I only had my Mountain Bike. I have never had to pay to see open spaces on my knobby tired bike.
Made it! Yup I had to drop into this little town then climb my way back down hill. UGH!

I didn't even see this little lake till i was headed back down the hill, it was that small. A quick picture and i was gone. Leslie had breakfast #2 waiting for me and I was starting to get hungery

Here in Beaumont you can run into a horse in the bike lane at any given moment!

So the cycling portion of the day was over and I felt like I could eat for the rest of the day!

And so there it was! The grubb I had been waiting for. Leslie had made Chris and I French Toast, Soyrizo and eggs and had plenty of fruit on hand too. I could hardly wait to eat long enough to take this picture!

Track side in the 909. Leslie and I headed off to the K1 Speed indoor go cart track in and it was a freaking blast! Yes folks, she beat me and she beat me bad! Passed me in seconds in the first lap and put me into the wall in one of the last turns in the last lap lapping me in the process!! I think she found her calling!!!

After the big race it was time for a nice cold one. We hit up the local Jamba Juice and I drowned my sadness in a huge fruity drink that gave me one hell of a brain freeze.

After countless snacks it was time to yet eat again. I was actually pretty hungry and all I wanted was to sink my teeth into a huge greasy burger. I sure got my wish. I love this place, endless fries, loads of beer and wine at your finger tips and burgers so tall I have to sometimes dislocate my jaw to chomp on one. I don't eat like this often but I am in my happy place when I do!

Last stop was the movies. We seen that Zohan flick, it was ok. I was expecting more but the real eye opener was this hot pair of shoes I spotted in the candy line. I don't know what the hell somebody was thinking when they made these shoes but, obviously somebody ells was looking for a pair just like them.
