Sunday after work Chris and I took Kelly and Stanley to Loch Leven for a hike. It would be the longest hike, or time on his paws, that Stanley would ever experience. The day before Stanley was introduced to his cousins Tao and Abby and it went pretty well so a bit of sensory overload from the great outdoors seamed in order.
If you have ever been to Lock Leven you know that there are two rather large dogs that own the land. Usually they allow you to gain entrance to the trail with the payment of powerabr. When they seen Stanley they treated him like one of their own and became great friends. Teddy, the yellow Lab walked with us the whole way. Stanley was a bit pissed off that I wouldn't let him off the leash but he dealt with it pretty well. He's still pretty small at 5 months and the last thing I needed to explain to his mother was how he was carried off to the woods by a large hungry cat!!
I will brag a bit when I let you know that at only 5 months he sits, lays down, stays, shakes either paw on request and when I walk him he stays right by my side. Of course he still does the other 5 month old dog things too. Digs holes in the back yard, eats plants, destroys food and water bowls and mangles any toy he gets in seconds flat! And those damn puppy needle like teeth freaking hurt! He's great and I can't wait till I can start taking him to the races.
