So today was a good day. Willie and I road our bikes up a little hill in your back yard. I wanted to put some long seat time in on my Superfly but it was still sitting in the shop waiting for replacement parts. I had no other choice but to toss a leg over my road bike. Our destination, Onyx Summit. 8443 feet up in the sky in our very own San Bernardino mountains. It was 104 degrees in the valley and at least a cool 80 degrees up in the trees. We got a late start leaving Willies house at 9:45am so we got to feel both ends of the heat, freaking hot and hot! I had never rode up there before and it was a bit of an eye opener. Every turn I was looking for that damn sign that would mark the end of the climb. The very long climb that seamed like it took for ever!!!! I felt great the whole time and didn't skip a beat, thanks Hammer super juice.
I plan on doing this ride two more times before I leave for our Leadvill 100 trip in August. So if you want to join in, just drop me a line.
We finally got to bring Stanley home. He's already getting bigger and getting a personality of his own. So far he's only had a few accidents in the house but hey, he's a baby and these things happen right. The outside kennel wasn't working either, so I took it down. Now he has free run of the back yard and he's much happier. We take him for his secondary shots in the morning and then it will be time for leash training.
