So I got my grove back today. If you have read my last few instalments I was without my Fly for almost 3 weeks and I was to only ride my Lemond. I love my Lemond but if I had to choose one bike, it would be a mountian bike for sure. Today was my 3rd ride sence the 15th of June when I dropped my bike off at the shop. Last Saturday I went on a lenghty ride with Joy,Matt, Trevor and matt's brother in law or cousin or, well I cant remember his name to be exact. Over the last month I have met 3 of his cycling family and they all have name that start with "J" , never the less they are all pretty cool.
Todays ride is when I actualy felt solid on a mountain bike again. After work I parked at the Ranger station on Bryant street in Yucaipa, climbed to Loch Leven, did both loops of single track/Santa Ana River Trail, back up to the HWY via Middle Control and back down Loch Leven and ending back at the ranger station. I kept a comfortable pace anddrank like a fish cause it was freaking hot!!!! It took me 2 hours and 29 minuits. Every turn stuck to the trail and my breathing never got out of control. It was so good that I had to log on and tell you all about it right away. I even still have dirt stuck to the sun screen on my legs.
A month from today I will be on my way to Colorado for the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike race. It basicaly starts at 10,000 feet and it's 50 miles up to just under 13,000 feet. http://www.leadvilletrail100.com/merchant.ihtml?id=1425&step=2 Yes, my lungs and head are going to burst and I can't wait to get there to do it either....
